Philosophy & Culture

Our founding in 1993 accompanied a wave of young exciting startups and a kind of "new thinking" that would ultimately reshape corporate America. The corporate mentality of the 80s became a distant memory as we welcomed a team spirit, and recognized that knowledge was quickly becoming the ultimate currency.

Public Clothing's unique voice was heard. We'd not only developed a system to deliver the right product, but we'd surpassed all expectations by adopting leading-edge technologies and progressive management strategies. We strove to develop a cohesive corporate culture-a whole greater than the sum of its parts- that would be the true backbone of our success.

Our reputation for reliability and resources won us the trust of virtually every major US retailer, and we've expanded from private label to a variety of branded properties. Charting each new territory required recruiting the right veterans. Simultaneously we cultivated an openness allowing our talent to pioneer novel ways of approaching age-old challenges, leading us beyond simply servicing the customer.

Our investment in human capital is the most important of our entire enterprise. Our philosophy dictates finding the most talented individuals. Beyond that we also recognize our responsibility for creating an exciting environment that challenges those individuals.

Across the spectrum of our business we've maintained a consistent ethical standard. Despite industry pressures of time and economy we work hard to keep clear and open lines of communication, understanding the need for balancing personal and professional lives.
